Whenever I review a web hosting company I like to look at their plans and features. I want to make sure they will offer you everything you need to get a website up and running. I check their prices with other hosting companies. Then I like to look at their performance and uptime. From there I like to look at their customer support. I then rate them on all those different areas.
I used to not recommend Myhosting to people looking for web hosting. However, from the overwhelming feedback I have gotten from people using Myhosting.com you should consider doing business with them.
Myhosting Features
Shared Plans
MyHosting offers 3 shared hosting packages to accommodate your entire website needs. Granted, their entry level plan is pretty cheap, their other two pricing plans are rather expensive compared to WebHostingHub and MochaHost. They do offer unlimited bandwidth for these plans (which I am not a fan of because I like to know the actual numbers). However, their prices range from $4.95 to $18.95 per month. $18.95 is pretty expensive for a shared plan though. The prices and details for these shared plans are down below:
VPS Plans
MyHosting does offer a number of different VPS plans, which is where this web hosting does shine. Their VPS plans are very dynamic and they do offer a lot of different plans for webmasters to choose from. Their prices are right on par with InMotion and GreenGeeks. The prices for these plans are listed down below:
Developer
Business
Reseller
However, as mentioned above they are very dynamic. Meaning that you can build your own custom VPS however you see fit. You can choose between cPanel or Plesk for your control panel. Then you can customize your disk space, RAM, CPU processors, IP addresses, and then your bandwidth per month. Depending on how many extra resources will determine the extra monthly cost. They are really reasonably priced though.
eMail Plans:
With MyHosting you can purchase one of their 3 eMail plans. Their email plans do support POP3, SMTP and IMAP and are pretty well priced compared to other hosts like GoDaddy. I took a screenshot of the plans they offer down below:
Domain Names
Additionally, you can purchase domain names with MyHosting too. You can transfer your domain names over to them for free which is a nice feature. A lot of other web hosting companies like 1&1 will charge you a fee to transfer over to them. At this time MyHosting offers 21 domain extensions. It looks like .com domain names are going to cost you $14.95/year.
Now, that we know all the plans and features that MyHosting has to offer lets take a look at their uptime, performance, and then lastly their customer support.
Myhosting Uptime & Performance
Performance
Performance is always important whenever you develop a website. Having the correct hardware to support your server is a must. People are often impatient when they sit down at a computer and look for stuff online. More and more people are even viewing websites on their tablet or smartphone. So, it’s vital that your hardware on your server is using the latest technology.
I do tend to favor web hosting companies that use SSD (solid state drives). This is basically the “new age” of hard drives. They are actually faster than standard hard drives. SSD drives are 20X faster than traditional mechanical hard drives. So, while I was unsure if MyHosting.com offered SSD. I jumped on live chat and found out they actually don’t use SSD. However, the good news is they do use NetApp data storage systems. These include flash storage systems which do perform very quickly.
Based on the research I have done on MyHosting it doesn’t appear that they have a lot of noticeable performance issues. Their customers do seem to be pretty happy with the performance they have received with the company. Overall, I would have to say the performance with MyHosting.com is above average.
Uptime
MyHosting does have a 100% uptime policy. Typically, a 100% uptime policy is a red flag for me. I have seen other companies like MochaHost do this over the years. However, I have done a lot of research on them and found that most of their clients are very happy with the level of uptime they have received with MyHosting.
They do have a policy where they will credit your account if there are problems with uptime. All of this is stated in their SLA (service level agreement). They do state that you will get credit if your website is down for longer than 5 minute intervals. There are only a handful of complaints about uptime with MyHosting. Simply put, they are very trustworthy in terms of uptime.
Myhosting Customer Support
Myhosting provides a perfect backing to its users for 24-hours a day and 365 days a year with its commendable client support system. As a leading and probably the best service provider of web hosting services, professional staff members treat each client like a member of a family. Myhosting customer service desk is equipped with a manual library, ticket process, vast expertise and troubleshooter. The company is known for its admirable customer aid in either by calling on toll-free number or via live chats.
You can reach MyHosting though live chat 24/7, call them 24/7, and fill out a ticket request which is usually responded to within 2-8 hours. I have personally tested them out in the past and never had a problem or issue with MyHosting. They are always quick to respond to you and they are very helpful. I do like how when you contact them on live chat it will tell you exactly how long it will take to connect with an agent. The last time I contacted them in only took 44 seconds to get in contact with them. See the screenshot down below:
Based on the research I have done on MyHosting it appears that their customers are very happy with the level of support they have received with them.
Myhosting Summary
The reviews with MyHosting are very good. Their shared plans are a little on the higher end, but if the quality of service is there I don’t have a problem paying a couple extra dollars. They do have excellent uptime and the performance is actually pretty good too. The best thing about them seems to be their customer support though. They are very quick at answering any questions or concerns you might have.
If the price tag for shared hosting is out of your budget though I would recommend reading my WebHostingHub hosting review which is a cheaper alternative. Also, another good company which I personally do business with is InMotion hosting. They are also a great solution for your VPS and dedicated needs.
