Name: AnHosting
Plans: Shared.
Website: www.anhosting.com
Summary: I don’t recommend AnHosting. There are much better options out there. This AnHosting review will show why.

AnHosting started providing web hosting services in 2001. Their web hosting services are available in over 100 countries. They serve thousands of clients. They started as a small Chicago suburb company. Now, they are called Midphase.
Therefore, if you go to AnHosting.com, you will just end up on Midphase’s site. But, this AnHosting review will show you what their users said about them, before the acquisition.
AnHosting Features
AnHosting offers just one hosting plan. It is a shared plan. They do not offer a VPS, Cloud, or dedicated Plan.
Shared Plan
This plan is called “Unlimited Web Hosting.” It cost $5.95/month. Certainly, AnHosting is in the “budget hosting.” category.
Everything is unlimited. This means:
- Storage.
- Bandwidth.
- FTP.
- Domain Support.
- MySQL Databases.
Typically, I have not been a fan of the unlimited sales pitch. There are limitations that every shared server has. It is just a marketing tactic. Many hosts like Hostgator, JustHost, iPage, etc. use this marketing tactic.
AnHosting comes with these options:
- Dedicated IP. $2.99/month.
- AWStats. $1.99/month.
- PHP 5.
- Perl Modules.
- Python.
- SSH Access & Private .htacces.
- Ruby on Rails.
- Custom php.ini.
- Server Side Includes (SSI).
Control Panel
AnHosting.com does use cPanel. Lots of site owners have gotten used to it over the years. It’s very easy to use, and you can install 310+ applications on your server.
Site Transfers
AnHosting will transfer your site for free. Other hosts like BlueHost will charge you a fee.
Money-Back Policy
AnHosting does have a 30-day money back policy. You can get a full refund if you don’t feel they will work for you.
AnHosting Uptime & Performance
Uptime
How good is AnHosting’s uptime?
Good. AnHosting has a 99.9% policy.
AnHosting’s data center is monitored by their staff. I am unsure of the location. But here are the features:
- Redundant power sources.
- Multiple network carriers.
- On-site professional staff.
- SAS 70 Type II compliant.
- Tier 3 classification.
- 30″ raised floor.
- Advanced canopy cold row cooling.
- VESDA smoke detection system.
- 24×7 security and digital video surveillance.
Research shows that uptime is good. A few sites have a review on AnHosting:
- HostJury.com
- TopTenReviews.com
- WebHostingDoctor.com
Performance
How good is AnHosting’s performance?
AnHosting does not use SSD hard drives. There are lots of benefits to using SSD hard drives. When you develop a site, you want it to load quickly.
The research did show site owners were happy with the speed. I did not find lots of complaints about speed.
AnHosting Customer Service
How good is AnHosting’s customer support?
When you sign up for hosts, you have to be able to rely on them. Nothing is worse than fighting with support. I have learned this with 1and1 and MochaHost.
Support is offered 24/7. Sales are available 8 A.M. to 7 P.M. Monday through Thursday.
Can contact AnHosting these ways:
- Phone. 877-829-2779.
- Fax. 435-755-3449.
- Live Chat.
- E-mail.
The research shows support is average. Not a lot of feedback on AnHosting’s support. Few complaints. Nothing major, though.
AnHosting Review Summary
Do I recommend AnHosting? No. It does not mean they are horrible. Because AnHosting does not fall into the “terrible” category. Their feedback was pretty positive before being acquired by Midphase. But, AnHosting does not use SSD hard drives. Other hosts do.
Better Shared Hosts
Read my WebHostingHub review. They are also a budget shared host. I have been doing business with them for several years now.
Better VPS/Dedicated Host
Read my InMotion review or RoseHosting review. Both of these companies offer more plans than AnHosting. They both get my recommendations.
