Name: BlueDomino
Plans: Shared.
Website: www.bluedomino.com
Summary: I do not recommend BlueDomino Their prices rise after you sign up with them. They have a lot of areas they need to be improved upon before I can recommend them. These BlueDomino reviews show what other webmasters are saying about them.

BlueDomino is a web hosting company that was founded in 1996. After 14 years of business, they were then acquired by EIG who owns a lot of popular web hosting companies like Hostgator, HyperMart, and Globat. BlueDomino promises to be your go-to host no matter if you’re an experienced webmaster or inexperienced webmaster. Since they have been in business for 20 years they really feel they have an upper hand when it comes to experience.
Whenever I review a web host I like to look at a number of different things. I like to look at their features, uptime, performance, customer support, and finally their price tag. I then either recommend them or point you elsewhere.
BlueDomino Features
BlueDomino is a shared only web hosting company. This means that they only offer one plan; a shared plan. You can’t purchase a VPS or dedicated server with BlueDomino because they don’t offer one. They do offer a lot of different products and services that might be appealing to a lot of webmasters.
Shared Plans
The one and only plan they offer you are as little at $5.95/month. However, to get this price you need to pay for your web hosting plan for 3 years. Otherwise, they will cost $6.95/month on a 2-year plan, $7.95/month on a 1-year plan, $8.95/month for a quarterly plan, or $9.95/month for a monthly plan. The 1,2 and 3-year plans do come with a free domain name.
I should note that a monthly plan or quarterly plan will cost a $19.99 setup fee.
Those prices are already kind of expensive for a shared hosting plan, but once your contract renews the prices go up even more. The 3-year plan is now $10.95/month, 2-year plan is $11.95/month, 1-year 3-month plan, and monthly plan is $12.95/month. I already don’t like this business model because GoDaddy another popular host does this same thing. I don’t get why you reward your long term customers by charging them more?
BlueDomino does offer a 3 different eMail plans to their customers. These do come with spam protection and do integrate nicely with mobile devices and desktop computers. With their 2 OX Mail plans, you pay $1.99/month or $4.99/month. The third plan is integrated MS Exchange 2010 and does cost $12.95/month.
Backups & Protection
Backups are very important if you running a website. From time to time, little hiccups can happen and you need a quick solution. You can purchase backups with BlueDomino but it will cost you $12.95/year.
If you’re looking to tighten up your security BlueDomino does offer SiteLock which cost $1.94 to $38.75 a month.
Online Marketing Services
BlueDomino does offer a number of different marketing service to help your website get ranked on Google. You will get a dedicated project manager, online tracking, and reporting, strategic link building help, keyword selection, etc. The price tag for these services starts at $99/month. BlueDomino can also help with PPC campaigns, Facebook business pages, etc.
BlueDomino Uptime & Performance
Uptime
I checked into BlueDomino for uptime and honestly couldn’t find anything stating their uptime policy. A lot of another host will promise you 99.9% or credit your account for the amount of downtime you have received. This is a gray area for me so until I can get some feedback on their uptime I’m going to have to rate them at 2.5 out of 5.
Performance
Performance is average at best with BlueDomino. They don’t have SSD hosting which is vital to keep on par with other companies in the web hosting industry. This means that your website will not load as quickly with BlueDomino as they would with other companies that are using SSD.
BlueDomino Customer Support
BlueDomino does have the support that is available 24/7. Meaning you can reach them through live chat, email, telephone, and customer support. However, from the research I have done I’ve found evidence that BlueDomino has lacking support (according to toptenreviews.com ). Other webmasters have reported that it takes fairly long for them to get back with you.
BlueDomino does lack a knowledge-base that is for the newbie webmasters. True, they do have some tutorials and videos, but there isn’t a lot of content on there that will help walk you through the different task.
I did login to live chat to ask about SSD and it took 5 minutes to connect. Then, I spent another 2 minutes waiting on the answer to my question. Support doesn’t seem to be the fastest with BlueDomino.
BlueDomino Review Summary
Overall, I do not recommend BlueDomino. Their prices are considerably higher than other companies. They are owned by EIG which I generally don’t support, support is lacking, they don’t offer SSD, and to be honest with you I’m not too sure about their uptime. This doesn’t mean that I think BlueDomino is horrible by any means, but there are so many better hosts.
If you’re looking for a shared host go with WebHostingHub.com. They are cheap and a much more complete host. However, if you’re looking for a VPS or dedicated server I would recommend that you check out my InMotion hosting review. I have been hosting with that company for 7+ years and recommend them to everyone.
If you have experience with BlueDomino I would love to see your feedback up above in the user reviews section of this BlueDomino review. Thanks for taking the time to read this review.
