Easyspace is a web hosting company that was founded in 1997. Most of their customers are in the United Kingdom. Other web hosts that are well known in the UK are Webfusion, GoDaddy, SiteGround, WebHostingBuzz, and 1and1. I figured I would check out Easyspace because I have seen and heard of them. Easyspace does have 10 data centers that are in the United Kingdom. Therefore, if you’re running a website in the UK, you can trust that your data center will be there.
If your not located in the UK and are a United States citizen you can still host with them, though. They have invested millions of dollars or pounds into their business to build a quality infrastructure. Easyspace openly admits that they are not the cheapest hosts. But they promise that you will get the most value for your money.
Whenever I review any web hosting company, I like to look at many things. For instance, I like to look at their features. Uptime. Performance. Customer support. Then at the end of my Easyspace review. I will then write a summary either recommending them or pointing you elsewhere. So, let’s get started and see what all Easyspace has to offer.
Easyspace Features
Shared Plans
Easyspace does offer three different shared hosting plans. The details of these plans are down below:
Pic ’n’ Mix
EasySpace does have shared plans where you select the options you want. A cool idea for shared plans and I do like all the options. They have many pre-defined plans. The details are down below:
- Company Website With 20 Users. For £75/year ($70/year) you get 25 email accounts, 10 GB of disk space, and one database.
- Download Site. For £123/year ($123/year) you get five email accounts, 20 GB of disk space, and three databases.
- Lots of Page Hits. For £63/year ($63/year) you get five email accounts, 10 GB of disk space, and one database.
- Database Driven Large Site. For £126/year ($126/year) you get ten email accounts, 10 GB of disk space, and five databases.
You can quickly add in as many email accounts as you need (limit 200). Disk space (48 GB limit). Databases (limit 20). The price will increase according to how many extra resources you add to your plan. I should note that you can choose between Linux or Windows. It’s the same price no matter what operating system you use. Can pay monthly or yearly.
Their shared plans can not use more than 250 GB of bandwidth per month. Easyspace is very upfront with their policy. If you exceed this amount your account will be suspended. Otherwise, you could be billed extra for the extra bandwidth that you use according to their TOS.

These plans allow users to send and receive business email securely through a variety of mediums. Including a desktop, mobile, or even using your domain name.
No Refund Policy
A lot of companies will over you some money-back guarantee or at least a prorated refund. For instance, WebHostingHub and InMotion Hosting have a 90 day money back guarantee. Easyspace doesn’t offer any money-back guarantee at all. In fact, they don’t offer any prorated refunds either. Here is a quote I pulled from their TOS page:
All fees are due immediately and are non-refundable as provisioning of your service commences immediately.
Now that we have looked at the plans they offer. Let’s take a look at Easyspace’s performance, uptime, customer support. Then at the end of my Easyspace review, I will either recommend them or suggest another host.
Easyspace Performance & Uptime
Performance
Performance is one commonly overlooked aspect of a web hosting company that many webmasters are finding out the hard way. Meaning, once you sign up and develop a website. You won’t notice just how slow their servers are until it’s too late.
For years I have been stressing the importance of signing up with a company that is using SSD hard drives. See this article on SSD hosting. These are much faster than SATA hard drives. Thankfully, Easyspace does use SSD hard drives with their shared, VPS, cloud, and dedicated plans. You do have the option to use an SATA hard drive with their dedicated plans, too.
Performance really doesn’t seem to be an issue with Easyspace, though. From the research it doesn’t seem like there are a ton of complaints about their speed. There are a couple complaints here and there. But nothing that raises any read flags. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that Easyspace is pretty good with performance.
Uptime
Uptime is another important part of running a successful web hosting company. Many webmasters find this out when they have made the decision to sign up with a host. Develop a website, and then later notice that they have all kinds of issues with downtime.
So, how good is Easyspace with uptime? Well, let me start out by saying what I like about them. They do have a page on their website which does show the status of their servers. As you can see, it states that all systems and services are up and running. However, this system status page doesn’t show any historical data. In only shows the last three weeks of information.
In their terms and conditions page, it states that they promise 100% uptime. I do have a problem with this, though. It’s unrealistic to promise that you’re going to have 100% uptime. A red flag that many webmasters have been pointing out for years. However, if you’re server does go offline you have five days to contact Easyspace. They will give you credit for a half day of service.
Furthermore, there were a couple of complaints on them about the downtime. But I did not find a steady stream of complaints. Therefore, I have come to the conclusion that their uptime is pretty decent.
Easyspace Customer Support
Customer support is a must for any host. In the technology era that we live in. Site owners are always going to have problems. They need to answer by a person. The agents are in the United Kingdom. You can contact them through ticket request, telephone, or by email. They do state that they have 24/7 customer care. But I really couldn’t find any business hours on their site. Stated on their TOS page support weekdays they are available during “ working hours.” During the weekend they are available between 9 am to 5:30 pm. Thus, I came to the conclusion that customer support is not available 24/7.
Support tickets are replied to in less than an hour. Their telephone support will answer in less than 5 minutes. These response times are quick. However, I have used GlowHost over the years, and they do promise to reply to support tickets in 20 minutes.
I did notice that Easyspace does have an “online guide hub” where they have written many how-tos. Can assist you with email, domain names, DNS, Office 365, hosting, WordPress, InstaSite, Server, SSL, etc. I spent about 30 minutes looking through these how-to guides and found that they are well written and very helpful.
No, Live Chat
However, one thing I noticed is Easyspace doesn’t have a live chat feature. This is one of my preferred ways to get ahold of a hosting company. From the research I have done on their customer support. It looks like there are more than a couple dozen complaints about their customer support. I used WhoIsHostingThis.com and HostSearch.com to see what other webmasters were saying about the customer support. The response was very poor.
Therefore, Easyspace needs to add in live chat feature. Listen to their customers and try to increase the quality of their customer support.
Easyspace Review Summary
So, do I recommend you sign up with Easyspace? No. But, this doesn’t mean they are a horrible host. In fact, they do have thousands of happy clients, but I don’t recommend them. Why? They are a little more expensive than other hosts. Isn’t always a bad thing, though. If you’re paying for a quality service, then I wouldn’t have any problems with it. It does look like their performance, and uptime is decent. Easyspace does have one major flaw, though. Their customer support has business hours. There is no live chat feature, and on the weekends you only have an 8-hour window to call them.
So, who do I recommend you use EasySpace? If you are looking for shared hosting, Check out WebHostingHub and InMotion. Those two companies are great, and I have worked with them for over eight years. However, if you need a dedicated server, I would suggest that you check into LiquidWeb or RoseHosting. Those two companies have excellent support and get good feedback amongst webmasters that have used their service in the past.
