Hostinger was started in 2004. Currently, they have over 29 million users and almost 180 countries. Clearly, Hostinger is a very fast growing web hosting company. I have read a lot about Hostinger and it was a matter of time before I wrote up my own editorial review on them.
Hostinger is a sister company of 000WebHost.
In this full Hostinger review I am going to show you the following:
- Plans.
- Performance.
- Uptime.
- Customer service.
At the end of this Hostinger review, I will either recommend them or point you elsewhere.

Lastly, all the shared plans can be billed on a 3, 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48-month billing cycle. Obviously, if you pay two years in advance you do get a cheaper rate.

Control Panel
Hostinger doesn’t use the traditional cPanel that a lot of the other companies use. Like DreamHost they use their own in-house control panel. They do this for newbie webmasters to help simplify managing different components. For instance, you can view your bandwidth, CPU, email accounts, DNS records, storage usage, etc.
Their control panel Zyro Builder allows you to use hundreds of different scripts. For instance, you can install WordPress Joomla, Drupal etc. This makes it a simple process to install your scripts. It takes less than 3 minutes to install your scripts.
Domain names
You can purchase domain names with Hostinger. Hostinger is a ICANN accredited business. You can purchase lots of different TLD domain names with them. Their domain prices are right on par with GoDaddy and NameCheap. .com domains are $8.99 a year. .net domains are $9.99 a year. .org domains are 11.99 a year.
Domain names can be auto renewed with Hostinger. However, if you opt out to auto renewing your domain name it will be released. This means that it will be released to the general public. If you forget there is a redemption fee of $53 that you have to pay if you want to keep your domain.
Hostinger Performance & Uptime
Performance
How good is Hostinger’s performance?
Hostinger does have 39 localized offices all over the globe. I do like how Hostinger shared plans are optimized for WordPress websites. Also for Hostinger’s VPS servers, they let you know exactly how much bandwidth you can use.
Also, I do like how Hostinger uses SSD hard drives. These are much faster than traditional hard drives. Lots of other web hosting companies have been using SSD just like Hostinger.
From the research, I have done on Hostinger it looks like most people are happy with the performance. Therefore I am confident in telling you that their performance is right on par with other hosts.
Uptime
How good is Hostinger’s uptime?
One thing that kills a lot of webmasters is downtime. Hostinger does having 99% uptime policy.
I should note that there are some complaints from webmasters regarding Hostinger’s downtime. However, this is because they’re using their free plans. Since they’re not paying customers they can’t expect 99.9% uptime. But from their paying customer’s uptime seems to be very stable with Hostinger.
Hostinger’s Customer Service
How good is Hostinger’s customer support?
Customer support is something a lot a newbie webmasters overlook. You need to be able to get in contact with someone. Thankfully Hostinger is very easy to work with.
Here are the following ways you can get in contact with Hostinger:
- Live chat.
- Ticketing system.
A lot of web hosting companies like Hostgator make you wait 20 to 30 minutes on live chat. This is not the case with Hostinger. Typically live chat connects quickly. Support tickets are usually replied to within an hour or two.
Additionally, from the research I’ve done, it looks like most people are happy with Hostinger’s customer support.
Hostinger does have a lot of tutorials and blog posts to help you with your website.
Hostinger Reviews Summary
Do I recommend Hostinger for your web hosting needs? Yes. I like how they use SSD hosting and you get a free SSL certificate. Also, they are WordPress friendly and they have a 30-day money back guarantee. If you need help with your website Hostinger does a very good job helping their customers. However, if you need a dedicated server they might not be the best option for you. The reason being is because they do not offer any dedicated plans. Therefore I would recommend you check out my RoseHosting review, Inmotion Hosting review, and LiquidWeb review. Additionally, A2 Hosting and SiteGround are great alternative options to Hostinger for shared web hosting plans.
