When I review a web hosting company I like to look at all possible aspects of their service. For instance, I rate them on their features, reliability, performance, customer service, and cost. In this full Hostmonster review I will show you why I highly praise their company to anyone seeking out a quality web hosting provider.
HostMonster offers a number of hosting plans; 9 in total. All their plans are on the Linux operating system, so if you’re seeking Windows you’ll have to look elsewhere. HostMonster is trusted by over 1 million websites world-wide.

Their plan comes with a free domain name for one year and everything you need to create a professional website. You’re certainly not going to be short changed with their shared plans as they support Worpdress, Joomla, Drupal, Moodle, b2evolution, image galleries PHP 5, Perl 5, Python, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, SSL certificates, POP3/IMAP email, and so much more.

Hostmonster is a feature rich-hosting company for the money. They use cPanel for their control panel. You can use SimpleScripts to install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal or any of the other 100 scripts you would like to install on your website. In case, clients have websites that sport databases as an integral part of their framework, clients can have up to a hundred MySQL databases (others shared packages such as Hostgator limit you to 25) along with PostgreSQL databases. For accommodating the email based needs, clients have the luxury of choosing from three different web solutions as well as the CGI-BIN and the CGI library.
Security is becoming more and more of an issue with web development these days. To prevent your website from getting hacked it’s almost a must to have some kind of security software installed on your server. HostMonster has partnered with SiteLock which is a service that helps safeguard your data on their server. It’s not included with any of their hosting packages and will end up costing you an extra monthly or yearly expense if you want it.
Hostmonster Reliability & Uptime
Hostmonster state of art technology ensures that its clients get an unparalleled uptime on the website. They use QUAD processors servers and Linux as an operating system. Further, customers have at their disposal a UPS backup along with generators for backup and the Apache web server as well. The company does round the clock checkups to ensure that the websites hosted by them do not encounter any technical glitches. HostMonster uses OC48 as a primary connection and also extends courtesy backups of the websites. The company arms a website with features like secure SSL servers along with in-built shopping carts of Agora and OS Commerce, to augment the website’s viability as an online shopping portal. In order to shield the websites hosted by them from any attacks on its privacy, the company provides its clients with directories protected with passwords so that all the important information remains secure. Yet another advantage of having HostMonster as a web host is that clients get an open PGP or GPG encryption.
Hostmonster has great uptime and you can trust that your website is going to be up 99% of the time. I have tested this with various websites and can attest that you will not have extended amounts of downtime like GoDaddy.
Hostmonster Customer Support
Hostmonster does have great support. You can call them 24/7 and they have actually won countless awards for great customer support. They do have US based customer support so you can trust that your not going to be fighting with someone in India to resolve and issues you might encounter. I have talked to them a number of times and they were always friendly and always know what their talking about. Their response time is amongst one of the fastest in the industry.
Hostmonster is great for small to large sized websites. They are an EIG owned company which I generally do not support. They are a very feature rich hosting service with nearly 20 years of experience. They have wonderful US based customer support and their performance and uptime is outstanding. I have done lots of business with them over the years and always breathe a sigh of relief when a client has a website with them. I do recommend them because they are a trusted company with an “anytime money back guarantee”.
