ReviewResearchInterviews
Rose Hosting LogoRoseHosting was founded in 2001.  Certainly no newbie to the hosting business.  Their headquarters are located in St. Louis, Missouri.  A datacenter is located in St. Louis, Missouri.  They focus on never overselling their servers.  Other hosts that oversell servers are GoDaddy, Hostgator, and 1and1.  Site speed should be excellent with RoseHosting.

This RoseHosting review will show you 4 things.  Their features.  Next, uptime.  Then, performance.  Next, customer support.  Lastly, a summary.

RoseHosting Features

Shared Plans

  • SSD Basic. $4.95/month. Support 1 domain. 2 GB SSD. 200 GB data transfer. 50 autoresponders, email accounts, and email aliases. 2 mailing list. Also, 2 sub-domains. 2 MySQL databases. 50 FTP accounts.
  • SSD Business. $9.95/month. Support 5 domain. 8 GB SSD. 1000 GB data transfer. Unlimited autoresponders, email accounts, and email aliases. 20 mailing list. Also, 20 sub-domains. 20 MySQL databases. 50 FTP accounts.
  • SSD Ultimate. $19.95/month. Support 20 domain. 20 GB SSD. 2000 GB data transfer. Unlimited autoresponders, email accounts, and email aliases. Unlimited mailing list, sub-domains, MySQL databases, and FTP accounts.

Shared plans come with either cPanel or DirectAdmin. Do get a 10% discount when you pay yearly.  Not as cheap as A2 Hosting or HostNine. Their shared plans come with Softaculous.  Makes it easy to install 320+ scripts. Also, comes with RVSiteBuilder Pro.

I do like how RoseHosting does not use the unlimited bandwidth offer. Instead, they let you know how much storage and monthly bandwidth you can use.

VPS Plans

  • SSD 1 VPS. $19.95/month. 2 CPU Cores. 1 GB RAM. 30 GB SSD. 2 TB transfer. Fully managed support.
  • SSD 2 VPS. $39.95/month. 2 CPU Cores. 2 GB RAM. 60 GB SSD. 4 TB transfer. Fully managed support.
  • SSD 4 VPS. $59.95/month. 4 CPU Cores. 4 GB RAM. 100 GB SSD. 6 TB transfer. Fully managed support.
  • SSD 8 VPS. $79.95/month. 6 CPU Cores. 8 GB RAM. 150 GB SSD. 8 TB transfer. Fully managed support.

For the 4 above VPS plans will have to pay extra for a control panel. Webmin is free. DirectAdmin is $5/month. cPanel is $12/month.

  • SSD 12 VPS. $119.95/month. 6 CPU cores. 12 GB RAM. 200 GB SSD. 10 TB transfer. Free managed support and cPanel or DirectAdmin.
  • SSD 16 VPS. $159.95/month. 8 CPU cores. 16 GB RAM. 300 GB SSD. 12 TB transfer. Free managed support and cPanel or DirectAdmin.

All prices are listed as their yearly price. You do get a 10% discount if you pay yearly. Monthly is going to cost more. Prices are higher than InterServer and GreenGeeks.

SSL Certificate

RoseHosting SSL'sYou are certainly not limited when it comes to SSL Certificates.  RoseHosting offers great SSL Certificates at discounted prices. Each SSL Certificate has a number of different features and prices. They are as follows:

GeoTrust

GeoTrust plans come in three packages. They include GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium, GeoTrust TrueBusinessID and GeoTrust TrueBusinessID EV. These plans currently range from $64.00 a year to $170 a year. All these plans come with single domains. The GeoTrust plans include some great features such as fast issuance, browser compatibility, and extended validation. These plans are very fast and efficient and will ensure quick issuance of your SSL Certificate. They are available in all browsers and OS platforms, including desktop and mobile browsers.

Comodo

Comodo is another great SSL Certificate Brand. There are many Comodo plans. The sixteen plans range in price from as low as $25 for the Comodo PositiveSSL and as high as $250.00 for the Comodo SGC Wildcard SSL. These plans include both single and sub domains. Comodo plans are guaranteed to be compatible with 99.9%+ of all browser and OS platforms. Furthermore, they have extended validation to validate the domain and the business organization that stands behind it. Their plans are very fast and efficient and will ensure quick issuance of your SSL Certificate.

Rapid SSL

Rapid SSL plans come in two packages. RapidSSL Standard are available for $25.85 a year and RapidSSL WildcardSSL packages are available for $107.00 a year. Just like the other SSL Certificates they include fast issuance, browser compatibility, and extended validation.

Symantec

Symantec plans come with three package options. They are Symantec Code Signing SSL, Symantec Safe Site and Symantec Secure Site Wildcard. These packages range from $290.00 a year to $2250.00 a year. These plans include both single and sub domains. They also include fast issuance, browser compatibility, and extended validation.

Thawte

With Thawte SSL Certificates users get a variety of options. There are five different plans. They are Thawte Code Signing SSL for Individuals, Thawte Code Signing SSL, Thawte SSL 123, Thawte Web Server SSL and Thawte Wildcard SSL Certificate. These plans range from $35.00 to $285.00 These plans include fast issuance, browser compatibility, and extended validation.

Control Panel

A lot of hosts use a custom control panel, cPanel, or Plesk.  You can use cPanel with any plan you choose with RoseHosting.  cPanel is my preferred control panel that I have used for over 8 years now.

Domain Names

A lot of other hosts allow you to purchase domain names with them.  RoseHosting is no different because you can purchase domains with them, too.  Their prices are reasonable and right on par with NameCheap (my preferred domain registrar).

Money-Back Guarantee

There is one con to RoseHosting.  RoseHosting does have a pretty short money-back guarantee, though.  Most web hosts will give you your money back within 30, 45, and 90 days.  They do fall on the shorter end like ServerPronto, Virpus, Host It Cheap, SingleHop, and Servage.  RoseHosting only offers a money-back guarantee for 7 days.

RoseHosting Performance & Uptime

Performance

Whenever you develop a website you want your website to load quickly.  This RoseHosting review is going to show how they stack up with performance.  RoseHosting does use SSD hard drives which perform much faster than the regular standard hard drives.  This is one feature that the best hosts have been implementing into their business strategy for years.  RoseHosting uses SSD hard drives with all of their plans.  They do not charge extra for SSD.

I have used a number of hosts over the years like Network Solutions and StartLogic that did have performance issues.  As a result, my websites ran much slower and my bounce rate increased.

Research shows RoseHosting is solid for speed.  This is not the only RoseHosting review that speaks highly of their speed.  These sites also praise them:

  • WhoIsHostingThis.com.
  • WebHostingSecretRevealed.net.
  • HostAdvice.com.

Uptime

Uptime is vital if you are running a website.  This RoseHosting review would fall flat if they had issues with downtime.  You want your website to be up as close to 100% as you can get.  In fact, the industry standard is 99.9%.  If the host you are using has anything less than 99.9% uptime you might run into problems with your visitors being able to access your website.  I can tell you with 100% confidence that RoseHosting does have very good uptime.

RoseHosting Customer Support

My RoseHosting review would not be complete without looking at support.  Customer support is another “must” for any decent host.  Nothing is more time consuming than fighting with customer support to get your issues resolved.  Some companies like MochaHost & PowWeb I found to be less that average when dealing with customer support.

If you should ever have problems with your website you should be able to get ahold of support in a variety of ways.  You can get ahold of RoseHosting through live chat, telephone support, and through a ticketing system.  Generally, live chat is my preferred method for contacting them and they always get your issues resolved right away.  For support tickets, I have found that it generally takes 2-4 hours to get a response.  RoseHosting does have a pretty extensive knowledge-base to help troubleshoot any problems or issues you may be having, too.

RoseHosting Review Summary

Overall, RoseHosting is a solid host.  Been in business for nearly 20 years.  Have thousands of happy customers.  Make no mistake about it this is a positive RoseHosting review.  They have lots of them.  Excellent performance.  Take advantage of SSD hard drives.  Have fantastic uptime.  Their customer support is knowledgeable and quick to respond.  After evaluating RoseHosting I can stand behind them.  So, yes I do recommend RoseHosting.

However, if RoseHosting won’t work for your web hosting needs I would recommend InMotion for VPS and dedicated servers.  I have been using this company for 7+ years now and they are excellent.  If you are looking for a decent shared hosting company I would consider WebHostingHub.com because they are very cheap and super dependable.

Research on RoseHosting.

“Positive”

RoseHosting.com

RoseHosting has a reviews section on their website. Various websites have been featured on there. RoseHosting has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 780+ customers. You can see all the RoseHosting reviews by clicking here. They also have a awards page where many websites have created a badge for RoseHosting to display on their website. I am adding this piece to my research to the positive section on tbwhs.com.

HostAdvice.com

HostAdvice is another web hosting review site. Users will rate and review hosts. RoseHosting has received 72 reviews.  They are rated as 9.8 out of 10 stars. These RoseHosting reviews are very positive. The following pros and cons were left on HostAdvice.com:

Pros

  • Webmasters are very happy with the customer support they have received from RoseHosting.
  • Various webmasters have noticed improved website loading times.
  • Site transfers were all setup in a day or less.
  • Very dependable uptime and stable network.

Cons

  • Sites were hacked, but RoseHosting had to revert to a backup to recover the files.
  • One user claimed that his order was never excepted because his account was flagged as fraud. His/her IP was blocked.

Nearly everyone that has written a RoseHosting review, has something good to say. What I do like about RoseHosting that any negative review they have gotten they always take the time to leave a comment replying to the complaint. I only saw 2-3 complaints, but the way RoseHosting handles it is professional. I wish other hosts would care enough to handle complaints like this.

WebHostingSecretRevealed.net

WebHostingSecretRevealed.net is a website run by Jerry Low. He offers unbiased web hosting reviews on a lot of hosts.  His RoseHosting review rates them 5 out 5. The following pros were addressed:

  • RoseHosting is very fast and the response times are a maximum of 300 ms. He has tested them and the average response time for other host was 1,500 to 2,000 ms.
  • The price tag for their plans is reasonable and affordable.
  • RoseHosting makes it known to their customers that they will not oversell their servers.
  • RoseHosting was tested for 2 months and they have a 99.97% uptime.

Overall, Jerry couldn’t think of one negative thing to say about RoseHosting except that with their shared accounts he wishes you could have more domain names with their shared plans. They are a web hosting company that has been around for nearly a decade and really don’t get the recognition that they really deserve. RoseHosting is a highly recommended hosting company and a very dependable company.

WebHostingGeeks.com

WebHostingGeeks.com is a hosting review site. Lots of hosts are reviewed. The reviews that are left on RoseHosting are all user generated, though.  No expert RoseHosting review. RoseHosting gets 5 out 5 stars and sports a perfect rating on WebHostingGeeks.com. The following points have been pointed out:

  • Customer support is amazing.  Replies fast.  Very helpful.
  • Servers are fast.  Noticed lower loading times.  This happens when you switch to them.
  • Excellent uptime.  No downtime issues.
  • Clients have used them for 8+ years.
  • Transfers to RoseHosting are easy and fast. RoseHosting does migrations.

Overall, RoseHosting gets 5/5 from WebHostingGeeks.com.  Very postive RoseHosting review. Every single person that has a left feedback on RoseHosting has had something nice to say.
