Summary: ServerPronto isn’t what they seem once you really research them. I don’t recommend them to anyone looking for a web hosting plan. This ServerPronto review shows why.

ServerPronto is a web hosting service that has been around since 1999. People would be surprised to see that ServerPronto has been around for that long. One company that has been around just as long is GoDaddy. Here, we’ll see if it has kept up with the times. One internet year is equal to 100 years of human life. Has this old dog learned new tricks?
When I review a web host, we look at some important items that affect the clients. Some of my considerations are the cost of services, selections of hosting packages, and how easy the service is to use. I also look at various features in comparison to other web hosting sites and how they stack up against the competition. Finally, comes customer service and uptime. In this full ServerPronto review, you will clearly see why I do not recommend their service.
ServerPronto Features
ServerPronto is a hosting provider that offers servers to clients that need a higher end server. Meaning that if you need a simple shared server they probably wouldn’t be your best bet. However, if you’re looking for a cloud, VPS, custom plans, or dedicated server they have a lot of appealing offers. In fact, if you want to build your own server ServerPronto pretty much allows you to dream up anything you want and pay for extra features, hardware, etc. So let’s get started and take a look at their cloud, VPS, custom, and dedicated plans.
Cloud Plans
ServerPronto is very dynamic when choosing any plan. Their cloud plans are no exception! You can get a cloud plan with 1 CPU core, 1 GB of RAM, and 20 GB of storage for $29.95. However, you can get anywhere from 1-16 core CPU, 1-16 GB of RAM, or 20-500 GB of storage. The highest plan you can get for cloud would run you $497.20 per month. So basically, a price range of $29.95 – $497.20 for any cloud you want. Not bad for choosing a dynamic cloud server!
VPS Plans
They offer four different plans for VPS. The plans are as follows:

- One cPanel hosting account
- Unlimited domains
- Unlimited databases
- 100 GB storage
- 500 GB traffic
- 100 Mbps Network Uplink
- Price tag is $6.95/month
Bare Metals VPS
- Linux OS included
- One core CPU
- 1 GB RAM
- 30 GB disk space
- 100 Mbps Network Uplink

- Price tag is $12.95/month
Reseller VPS (WHM)

- One core CPU
- 1 GB RAM
- 20 GB disk space

- Windows 2008 included

Bare in mind you can upgrade your CPU, RAM, Hard drive, bandwidth, Port, Additional IP addresses, and managed backups for an extra fee. You can choose between CentOS 6 & 5, Fedora 17, Debian 6, and Ubuntu 12. (All in 32 & 64 bit).
Dedicated Plans
Just like VPS and Cloud servers you can purchase a dedicated plan with ServerPronto. The specifications are as follows:

- Dual Core CPU AMD Athlon Regor 2X 3.2 GHz
- 4 GB RAM
- 500 GB SATA (SSD)

- Price tag is 39.95/month

For the other four, I am just putting a screenshot of the plans they offer. They are the Managed PRO, Enterprise 2- Quad, Enterprise 2-HEXA, and Enterprise 2- OCTA.
Now since the prices are already pretty damn low you have the option to add CPU, Operating System, Control Panel, RAM, Primary hard drives, secondary hard drives, RAID configuration, Bandwidth, Port, Additional IP Addresses, Managed Server, Managed Firewalls, Backups, and SQL Servers.
Compared to InMotion:
Since these prices are very low, I wanted to dive a little deeper. What I did was go to ServerPronto’s site and built a server just like one I would purchase with InMotion. Just to see what the price comparison comes is. From a glance, the prices look great, but once we match what others are already doing, we begin to see it’s getting higher. Note, you could always go with their minimum ones, but you’re paying for less resource. Also, it’s $35 a year for cPanel.
See the server I built with ServerPronto:
(does have 4 GB more of RAM) Prices are very close to other web hosting providers. So no issues there.
See the low-end package that InMotion offers:
It really doesn’t make any difference how you configure your server; they are going to be a tad bit higher or lower to other companies. No issues in terms of cost there!
Build Your Server
Now, one cool thing about ServerPronto is that you have the ability to create your servers. I would give you the prices but on their site. It just has a live chat contact form for you to fill out. Their solution specialist will aid you in picking out all the bells and whistles. Cool idea!
There Is More To!
ServerPronto offers colocation, Minecraft servers (love that game), Domain registration, backups, and the list could go on and on. Pretty much anything you want they have.
On their site it even states that they have 1 hour average of provisioning time. 100% uptime. 7 day money back guarantee. 12,000 satisfied clients. No contracts.
Now, let’s take a look at their uptime, reliability, customer service, and then I will round out the evaluation of their company.
ServerPronto Uptime & Performance
Uptime
Uptime has always been an important aspect of any web hosting provider. Let’s face it if our websites are down we freak out. ServerPronto offers a 100% uptime guarantee. I hate when I see companies that offer this! Even the best of the best can only offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee. Why they state this on their website is a huge red flag for me. According to WebHostingStuff.com it’s 99.97%:
This is really good uptime. No real complaints from me on this. In fact, their uptime is right up there with the cream of the crop.
Performance
So far, there isn’t anything to complain about with ServerPronto. Their prices are on par with other competing web hosting providers, and their uptime looks fantastic. But, what about performance? According to isitdownrightnow.com their response time for their server is 60.83 MS. Not horribly bad, but not great either. For me, I like to see sites that have a response time below 30 MS. See screenshot down below:
ServerPronto Customer Service
With ServerPronto, you get guaranteed customer support 24/7. For instance, if you want to talk to them via “live chat” they are always around to assist you. If calling them is something you would rather do you can always call them on their toll-free number. Support tickets are also available for their service, as well. One thing I do like about them is they have a knowledge-base. It has tons and tons of useful how-tos. So what I did was jumped on live chat (on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014) because I had a couple of basic questions that I wanted answering. To my surprise, it didn’t go to live chat! I submitted my question about their VPS plan for $6.95 and got a message saying thank you for your inquiry. We will respond to you soon:
I suspect that live chat is only for existing customers. But, to my surprise, it wasn’t! I filled out a question. Same thing happens I got the “thank you for your inquiry. We will respond to you soon message! What a total bummer!
It’s been 3 days and I haven’t heard back from them on my inquiry. Guess they don’t want to talk to me. Oh well, not worth my time.
I can’t give a company a recommendation that doesn’t email you back promptly. As web designers, we are always going to have clients relying on us. When we have problems we want answers right away. We don’t want to wait. Killed my chances of ever recommending them!
ServerPronto Review Summary
ServerPronto isn’t a horrible host. However, don’t recommend them. Two things I don’t like. Response times are a tad bit slow. Customer support live chat goes to email ticket response. A 7-day money back guarantee is amongst the lowest in the industry. A 14-day money back guarantee would be a step up. Most companies at least offer a 30-day money back guarantee.
The person from ServerPronto that reached out to me for a reevaluation. Didn’t even take the time to send me an email back. In fact, the last I heard from them was that they had an affiliate program with CJ.com.
Kind of makes you wonder. If I recommended them would they write me back? Or did they just want me to write up a positive review?
For shared hosting look at my Web Hosting Hub review. If you need a VPS, Reseller, or dedicated plan, I would recommend InMotion.
