Ultrahosting has been a web hosting provider since 1983. I read that directly from their about us page and was surprised on how long they have been in business. They have been around longer than GoDaddy! Seems like they have been around since the dinosaur age in terms of technology. This web host provides VPS for both Windows and Linux Applications. They even specialize in Forex Windows hosting. Employees of Ultrahosting have the ability to handle any concerns, queries and problems clients will throw their way. Their bread and butter seems to be their emphasis on U.S. based customer support. Having been in business for nearly 30 years, Ultrahosting claims there is not a client concern they will not be able to competently handle.
Whenever, I review a web hosting company I like to look at their features, performance, uptime, customer support, and lastly their price tag. However, I am going to show you why there are better options other than UltraHosting.

UltraHosting is one of those unique web hosting providers that only offer VPS (virtual private server) hosting. UltraHosting does offer a 15% discount if you pay for their service for 3 months in advance. Each server is Forex ready, install & Runs .exe’s, has remote robots, True VPS resource isolation, hosted in North American, and also comes with free setups. Really, their VPS prices are right on par with SiteGround and HostNine.
Ultrahosting Uptime & Performance
Uptime
Expect some downtime with Ultrahosting. Ultrahosting operates to give clients the top-notch web hosting services at the most affordable prices. They are confident their services are the best in the North American region with the price they are offering. The free support which clients can easily upgrade provides 24/7 help for basic troubleshooting, installing of software and rebooting concerns. Ultrahosting takes pride in having one of the highest uptime percentages in the web hosting industry. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case when you just Google UltraHosting reviews. In fact, people have noted there are lots of problems with their Forex servers:
All you have to do is Google UltraHosting reviews and you will see there are dozens of complaints from people about their Forex hosting.
Performance
I used Isitdownrightnow.com to check Ultrahosting’s servers response time. If you’re new to my reviews I do this on every web hosting company I review. The response time is measured in milliseconds. A response under 20 milliseconds is considered great, a response between 21-50 ms is average. Anything above 51 ms I considered to be slow. From the test I have ran UltraHosting has a response time of 73.82 ms. This is slower than average.
Ultrahosting Customer Service
Customer service is ok with UltraHosting. Their customer support is certainly one thing they are very proud of. Their customer support is located in North America so you can trust that if you’re in the US you certainly won’t be talking to someone overseas. Case and point: the UltraHosting support team is composed of over 150 trained employees to handle any type of client concern and issues. They require that their customer get a special certificate to insure your getting the best support possible. They have named their customer care Ultracare. It looks like they handle support by a ticketing system and via telephone support. I don’t believe they have a live chat feature on their website. I am not stating that I have any experience working with their customer support. However, I have done some research on them by Googling UltraHosting reviews. I was shocked that people are not ranting and raving about their support team. Here are a couple screenshots of what I have found on them:
They do offer additional support if you need it. They come in four different plans; silver, gold, platinum, and diamond. I was unable to get a price breakdown with each plan. It is not posted on their website. Each one will include a specified number of minutes per month, basic monitoring, 24/7 emergency support, remote reboot, service monitoring, advanced service monitoring, performance monitoring, proactive response to alerts, FTP backup, operating system patches, etc.
Ultrahosting Summary
Ultrahosting needs to be more reliable and customer service needs to work out some billing issues. For the most part people seem to report their servers are kind of buggy. In fact, there have been reports of extended amounts of downtime. Their servers respond slower than what I call average.
I am not stating that Ultrahosting is the worst hosting company out there, but certainly you can find a better one. If you’re looking for a shared, VPS, reseller, or dedicated plan I highly recommend you check out another company. In fact, InMotion and GreenGeeks are far better than Ultrahosting.
If you have any experience working with UltraHosting I would love to here about your experience with them. Please feel free to leave your comments up above. If you use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. and you found this review helpful would you mind sharing it. Thanks for reading.
